Customized T-Shirts - New Fashion Trend

In summer, T-shirts are undoutedly the most popular clothing item both for men and women. Despite their popularity, some t-shirts are really boring. So, here comes the idea of customized T-shirts. You can create shirts with your own photos, images, and designs. You can do all this at home simply by yourself. First, you can use scissors.

1.You should lay the t-shirt flat on a table. Make sure that all of the seams at both the front and the back match up.

2.You begin with the neck. Most basic t-shirts have a rather thick neck seam. Simply cut slowly right below the collar seam. You can decide how to make the t-shirt neck. A cute idea is to cut a broad arc across the neck area, from shoulder to shoulder, for an elegant off-shoulder look to be paired with a tank top.

3.When the neck area finished, you can move on to the sleeves. Some people like to cut the sleeves off altogether, but to keep the customized T-shirts looking consistent, it's best to leave the sleeves. You can shorten the sleeves by slowly cutting around the bottom seam of each sleeve. The seams can help to keep your cutting from looking uneven.

4.After the neck and the sleeves are done, you can focus on the overall length of the t-shirt. Generally speaking, the shorter, the better. Take about 1 1/2 inches from the bottom of the t-shirt, again following the path of the bottom seam, and cutting in one continuous motion.

5.You should have a long strip of t-shirt fabric left. Take it and wrap it around your waist, using it as a belt. With just a few snips you've transformed your boring t-shirt into a cute custom t-shirts.

Apart from using scissors, you can also decorate a T-shirt using bleach.

1.Take the colored t-shirt and insert a large piece of tin foil inside it, large enough to cover the area you want to decorate.

2.Place your template such as a star, geometric shapes, letters, etc on top of the shirt. Use SMALL quantities of the bleach from the bleach pen to color in the design.

3.Leave in the sun to dry for at least 1 hour. Rinse before first usage. Wash separately the first time.

Of course you can do all this at home by yourself, cause it's fun. But if you want to make your customized T-shirts more professional, you may turn to a customized apparel corporation for more precise design and cutting. Some companies use screen-printing. In screen-printing, a design is separated into individual colors. Plastisol or water based inks are applied to the shirt through mesh screens which limits the areas where ink is deposited. In most commercial T-shirt printing, the specific colors in the design are used. To achieve a wider color spectrum with a limited number of colors, process printing (using only cyan, magenta, yellow and black ink) or simulated process (using only white, black, red, green, blue, and gold ink) is effective. Process printing is best suited for light colored shirts. Simulated process is best suited for dark colored shirts. Very few companies continue to use water-based inks on their shirts. The majority of other companies that create shirts prefer to use plastisol due to the ability to print on varying colors without the need for color adjustment at the art level. Specialty inks trend in and out of fashion and include shimmer, puff, discharge, and chino based inks. A metallic foil can be heat pressed and stamped onto any plastisol ink. When combined with shimmer ink, metallics give a mirror like effect wherever the previously screened plastisol ink was applied. Specialty inks are more expensive to purchase as well as screen and tend to appear on garments in boutiques.

As we all know, at the turn of the 21st century, designing customized T-shirts online became more popular. Popular websites began to use digital printing (such as Direct to Garment or DTG printing) to allow customers to design their own T-shirts online with no minimum orders. In the beginning, DTG could not print well on dark garments; however, with the help of some online T-Shirt retailers, printer manufacturers such as T-Jet have all but perfected the process, providing consumers with many more printing options.
